Come find out the latest about Pluto from a man who has dedicated his life to its exploration as head of the NASA New Horizons mission. The spacecraft will arrive for a fly-by reconnaissance of Pluto on July 14, 2015. Dr. Alan Stern is here to share with us the mission's history, objectives, and capabilities, and give us the inside scoop on plans for this historic encounter -- more than nine years in the making. Alan will also reveal little-known aspects of the mission and its payload. Finally, for all the Pluto fans out there, Dr. Stern will include a critique of the IAU's planet definition and argue why Pluto is considered a planet by so many, many planetary scientists.
